Zoya Summer 2015 - Island Fun Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Dear Zoya,

I love this collection.

Sincerely,
Melissa

This collection is probably one of my absolute favorites from Zoya in a while! I love love love the bright cremes! Jace, Cecelia, and Talia belong together...they make a perfect trio. I think they're my favorites of this collection, but Serenity runs a close second to them, and I also love Demetria and Nana! It's rare that I love a whole collection, but I feel like all of these are extremely wearable! :)

Hit the jump for my swatches and review!

Zoya Island Fun Swatch, Jace, bright, creme, green

Zoya Jace

Pea green creme

I love greens like this, with a touch of yellow to give it a pop of spring. I mean, I also love the kelly greens, the mints, and the emeralds of the polish world too, I just have a soft spot for greens like this! Colors like this don't give me the dreaded lobster fingers, which I love.

Opacity scale (1-5): 2.5

Finish: Creme, 2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Island Fun Swatch, Cecelia, bright, creme, teal

Zoya Cecilia

Medium teal creme

Oh Cecelia, you're breaking my heart, you're breaking my confidence daily....  Luckily, no heartbreaking or loss of confidence with this polish! I am loving this color, it's the perfect team creme, and it looks like what would happen if Jace and Talia had a little nail polish baby! :)

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Creme, 2 coats to be opaque
Zoya Island Fun Swatch, Talia, bright, creme, turquoise, blue

Zoya Talia

Darkened cyan creme

Another polish from the collection that I love! I am a big fan of Jace, Cecelia, and Talia together, they're beautiful! My only gripe about this gal was that it was on the thick side, and dried out and got stringy really fast while trying to do nail art! Otherwise, it's a lovely blue!

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Creme, 2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Island Fun Swatch, Serenity, bright, creme, purple

Zoya Serenity

Bright purple creme

This purple is a fantastic purple. It makes me think of grape candies or grape soda. It has a touch of blue in it to elevate it from a typical purple, but it's definitely not creeping into blurple territory yet.

Opacity scale (1-5): 3.5

Finish: Creme, 2 coats to be opaque

From top: Nana, Areej, Reagan
Zoya Nana

Bright fuchsia creme

I'd describe this lady as somewhere between a fuchsia and a mulberry, it definitely has a little bit of a blue tone to it. Maybe raspberry? I'll admit, it's not a terribly unique color, Areej and Reagan are in a similar family, but it's still a very pretty polish!

Opacity scale (1-5): 3

Finish: Creme, 2 coats to be opaque

Zoya Demetria

Vivid poppy red creme

Am I the only one that immediately thinks of Demi Lovato when I hear the name of this polish? Who knows, maybe I'm weird. This is a very pretty red-orange that is a little less opaque than the rest of the collection, I definitely still had a VNL after 2 coats. I don't mind though, it's a great bright warm red!

Opacity scale (1-5): 2

Finish: Creme, 2-3 coats to be opaque

Zoya nail polishes, as always, are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, and camphor and can be purchased at zoya.com and Ulta and Ulta.com for $9.
